- A long-lost jewel that has gained a legendary aura through time HEAVY JELLY never received a full release but existed only as a bootleg for years because of contractual issues between Jackie Lomax and Apple Records. In 1969 the guitarist was still engaged with the label when after the scarce promotional support given to his album Is This What You Want due to The Beatles break-up he decided to embark on this new musical adventure. Initially configured as a fictitious band in 1970 guitarist John Moorshead bassist Alex Dmochowski and drummer Barry Jenkins joined up with the voice and guitar of Lomax and recorded this LP of engaging and powerful blues-rock. The band’s brief life didn’t prevent this album achieving a mythical reputation.
