- In 1967 when this concert was performed Oscar Peterson was already a well known figure and Hawkins the inventor of tenor sax in jazz was by then almost a myth. Hawkins and Peterson knew each other well and had performed together on many occasions beginning with the early Jazz at the Philharmonic concerts organized by Norman Granz in the late Forties. This previously unissued concert in Hannover was taped for a German radio broadcast. It is in fact an important addition to their not so prolific discography together as it constitutes their last known musical encounter. 13 tracks including ’Satin Doll’ ’September Song’ ’Let’s Fall In Love’ ’Moonglow’ and more.
