This quintessential release includes two of her finest (and long unavailable) albums from her heyday which were originally released by the Crown label: Miss Etta James (1961) and Twist with Etta James (1962). Both feature selections from early singles dating back as far as 1955 including a number of R&B staples like “Good Rockin’ Daddy” “Roll with Me Henry” “How Big a Fool” “Hey! Henry” and “Strange Things Happening” among others. Fusing rhythm & blues with gospel punch swing and twist as well these two outstanding LPs have been remastered and packaged together in this very special collector’s edition which also includes 10 bonus tracks (consisting of a variety of hard to find sides recorded by James for Modern and Kent during that same period).
ETTA JAMES lead vocals on all tracks plus: Maxwell Davis (saxophone and musical director) and His Orchestra.
