Description
DE-LUXE DIGI-SLEEVE EDITIONS ORIGINAL CLASSIC JAZZ ALBUMS Including bonus tracks and up-to-date liner notes.
The classic album Louis and the Good Book (Decca DL8741) presents Louis Armstrong playing and singing timeless spirituals and traditional songs with arrangements by Sy Oliver. While he had recorded some of these songs in the thirties the versions on this LP are without doubt the definitive ones. We have complemented that album with nine additional outstanding spirituals and traditional songs in a similar mood recorded by Louis in the studio in the 1950s.
