This quintessential release presents one of Hooker’s most difficult to find albums on CD The Country Blues of John Lee Hooker originally issued in 1959 by the Riverside label. It was his first LP packaged for the folk/traditional blues market where he plays nothing but the acoustic guitar and sings straight to the bone with his soul drenched vocal delivery. In addition to the original masterpiece this remastered collector’s edition also contains 8 bonus tracks including a number of solo recordings taped between 1951 and 1961.
