Description
Formed by Alvin Lee and Leo Lyons in the early 1960s and originally known as The Jaybirds Ten Years After materialised in 1965 as a tribute to Elvis Presley who had hit big a decade before. The group signed with Decca and released their debut album in 1967. Their sophomore release the live Undead came in September the following year and featured their massive hit ‘I’m Coming Home’. Having gained a strong live following TYA toured both Scandinavia and the US prior to the record coming out and it was while in San Francisco that the group performed a dynamic set at Bill Graham’s Fillmore West on June 28th. Previously unavailable this CD now features the full show recorded as it was for live FM Broadcast around the north California area. The sound remains superb 50 years after the event took place and the enduring performance illustrates perfectly why this potent blues outfit went on to have eight top ten albums in the UK between 1968 and 1972.
