Description
After a couple of uninspired and commercially redundant albums in the mid-1980s Flick Of The Switch in ‘83 and its ‘85 follow-up Fly On The Wall AC/DC were all set to throw in the towel for the second time in five years. This disappointing era for the band came in the wake of their hugely successful 1980 effort Back In Black and ‘81’s For Those About To Rock We Salute You which had proven Brian Johnson’s incorporation into ‘DC - following Bon Scott’s tragic and premature death in 1980 - a wise move. But when in February 1988 AC/DC were inducted into the Australian Recording Industry Association’s Hall of Fame and Blow Up Your Video became the group’s best seller since For Those About To Rock... recorded at Studio Miraval in Le Val France and reuniting the band with original producers Harry Vanda and George YoungAustralia’s premier rock collective were back on the up. Their ‘Blow Up Your Video World Tour’ had 5 legs spreading over the course of 11 months starting on 29 January 1988 in Perth and finishing on 13 November the same year in Inglewood California. On 8th February AC/DC performed at The National Tennis Centre in Melbourne a show which was recorded for live FM Broadcast across the country and which was also synched on a number of stations in the US. Featuring a set-list that featured just two cuts from the new record alongside a fine array of AC/DC classics this entire show in now available on standalone CD for the first time providing fans a chance to experience a superb ‘comeback’ show for the group performed in their original hometown.
