Description
In the year before his untimely death in March 1986 Richard Manuel performed a number of shows with former band mate Rick Danko. It was a far cry from their glory days together in The Band but they maintained a loyal following still willing to provide an audience. Manuel was one of the three vocalists in The Band along with Danko all of them sharing lead and harmony parts but Manuel was often seen as the group’s primary vocalist. His singing alternated between a soul-influenced baritone that drew frequent comparisons to Ray Charles and a delicate falsetto. This mid-price 2 CD release contains a selection of classic Band songs including Stagefright and Shape I’m In. It was recorded at The Horseman Saloon Mt. Temper NY in March 1985.
